In 2014, ADREM has over 110 research projects in progress and received nearly RMB 22 million Yuan in research funds. Of all research projects, 42 are funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 7 National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) and 1is funded by the National Key Technologies Research and Development Program. From 2010 to 2014, ADREM and its faculty members have released/published 899 research articles, among which 355 were published in SCI-indexed journals, 85 in EI-indexed journals, 7 in ISTP-indexed publications, and 452 in core Chinese journals. Moreover, 39 books have been published, 31 patents for invention and 12 patents for innovative utility have been awarded, 2 approved professional standard and 18 computer software copyrights have been registered. By 2014, ADREM has won 6 provincial and ministerial prizes.

ADREM has five doctorial programs (in physical geography, cartography and geographic information science, natural resources, global environmental change, and natural disasters) and 8 master’s programs (in physical geography, cartography and geographic information science, natural resources, global environmental natural disasters, soil and water conservation and desertification control, disaster prevention/mitigation and protection engineering, and mapping and geographical information technology). ADREM enrolls 266 postgraduates among which 90 are doctoral students and 176 are master’s students.
